What is Citysteak?
The City Steak Community is an online marketing and public relations website for full service restaurants with a focus on steakhouses. We assist public relations companies and restaurants in getting their restaurants more online presence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. Citysteak never stops working for your restaurant. Citysteak is one of the top restaurant and steakhouse listing sites on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. We feature your restaurant and steakhouse information on one page so that future guests, publicists, writers and editors can get all of their needed information fast. We also allow every restaurant to post their information about their restaurant or steakhouse including a chef bio and menu area as well as having a free events page where you can add your events, a free restaurant blog so that you can keep your guests up to date, a free classifieds page so you can list your employment needs, an area to add up to ten images of your restaurant or food, and a unique URL which ultimately assists your restaurant in search engine optimization.
How did it get started?
Citysteak was started by restaurant owners for other restaurant owners so that they have an inexpensive online area to promote their restaurant the way they would like to promote it. Face it, creating websites are a necessity and are expensive. Right now, the economy is not the best and we are hoping that this small start-up can assist with getting more restaurant recognition for all restaurants that are listed.
I am a publicist. How can I get involved so that I can promote my clients?
Very simple. All you have to do is email us and we will send a password to you. Once you receive the password, then you can begin to add your clients events and news releases. You will also be able to use all of the same member tools as the restaurants that are already within Citysteak.
I have a restaurant and how can this help me?
Citysteak is a company that owns restaurants and we understand that every restaurant has to do everything that they can to keep their restaurant name in front of every possible guest. What Citysteak does is keep your restaurant name in front of the online users that are in search of a restaurant in a specific city. It promotes your restaurant! Think about all of the venues that you go to and set up tables and hand out food to possible guests. You are getting your name out step by step. Citysteak continues that effort by keeping your name in front of future guests so that you have more possibilities to get noticed online. How do I get listed on Citysteak?
Getting listed on Citysteak is easy and until December, 2009, it is free. Begin by going Here. Once you create a new account, you will be sent an email approval. Then you will have to log back into your account profile and begin to add your restaurant photos, create a new restaurant blog, add your special events, and add any classifieds that you would like to add. Once inside of your profile, you will be able to change any of your restaurant information which will assist you in promoting your restaurant to potential guests.(Imagine what this would cost if you wanted your website company to do this for you!) How much does it cost to be on Citysteak?
Until December of 2009, it is free. After that, it is only $110.00 per year. You will quickly see that by utilizing our restaurant microsite, your restaurant will be included in a niche specific online community which may assist you in getting additional business and more Internet recognition. (Think about how much your web designer would charge you for this time.)
Does the restaurant have to be a steakhouse to be listed on Citysteak?
No. The Citysteak community is a marketing website for restaurants with a focus on steakhouses. Citysteak does prefer that the restaurants included in our site to be steak driven, and we know that most restaurants have steak on their menu, so we do allow all full-service restaurants to be part of our community.
Can I add more than one restaurant?
Yes, you can add more than one restaurant but the address, the phone, and the restaurant website will all have to be different. Our database is set up so that all of those fields have to be unique.
How is the ranking on the homepage determined?
The ranking of restaurants and steakhouses on the home page is based on the latest steakhouses that have been added to Citysteak. If you would like to be a FEATURED RESTAURANT please select this link.
What does Citysteak do for my restaurant?
Citysteak is marketed to business people and travelers searching for restaurants on the web. Our goal through our website is to get more people into your restaurant from our online marketing of a restaurant community.
Can I add an event even if I am not a member?
If you are a publicist that works with restaurants, we welcome your addition of events. You have two ways to place your articles, press releases or events. The first is to contact us and ask for a password. Once you are verified as a publicist, you will then be emailed a publicist password and will be allowed all of the same tasks as our members. If you would like to email the events to us, we will add them to the Citysteak site within twenty-four hours. Please email your restaurant events Here
Can I add my press releases?
If you are a publicist that works with restaurants, you can either contact us via email and we will verify that you are a publicist. Once verified, you will be emailed a publicist password so that you can begin to use our marketing for free. Additionally, if you want to email the releases to us, please email all of your press releases to us and we will post them within 24 hours of receiving them. If you are a restaurant that has become a member, you can add the press releases yourself under the member functions. (You will have to log in to accomplish this task and your release will be added to the homepage as soon as you submit it.) Writing articles for Citysteak?
If you are a writer that works with restaurants, we welcome your contributions of articles. Unfortunately, we are a very small company so we only give you credit for the article with a link back to your website. We welcome articles from any city. Articles we prefer are "Features" and "Restaurant Reviews." This is a great way for you to get published and get your name out there and it becomes a reference point for you writing skills. What can you do to help get more people to your pages on Citysteak?
You can add a link from your website to your profile page within Citysteak. Additionally, you can use our logo and add it to your website as a link to your specific Citysteak page. This will assist in adding your page to the search engines for additional search engine optimization.
How can you get your blog listed on the home page?
The more you post to your blog on Citysteak, the higher your blog ranking will be and your blog will stay on the home page. If you only post one time a month, your blog posting may sink to the bottom of the blog listings. It will still be searchable within the search engines, but it will not have as much relevance to be listed at the top of the blog listings. Posting to your blog every week will assist in keeping it at the top of the blog listing and on the home page. Additionally, once you post your blog, it will be listed with all of the other restaurant blogs on the website and guests will be able to ready it.
How can you get involved?
Citysteak is looking for volunteers to be moderators in your city. You must live in the specific city that you will be moderating the comments and reviews for each restaurant profile. You will monitor the comments that are left on the reviews in your city and if they are inappropriate, then you will be able to go in the system and delete them. You will also assist with spreading the word through the restaurant and food blogs. If you already have a blog set up that will compliment Citysteak, we are always happy to provide a link to your site with you doing the same for our site. All you have to do is send us the page where the link to Citysteak.com is located, and we will then add your link to your website within a twenty four hour period.
